Bulk Earthworks

MC Earthmoving has been involved in four stripping campaigns with Holcim Pakenham, the first commencing in 2011 and the most recent ending in March of 2020. Each involving overburden removal and subsequent rehabilitation of finished extractive faces and over 800,000m3 of material consisting of saturated clays to shot-rock has been moved to expose rock for production to date.

MCE have worked in conjunction with Holcim on maintaining a working quarry with little or no impact to either process taking place concurrently. Continual dialog and identification of tasks to be performed are assessed and resolved by a joint approach from both client and contractor.

“In 2011 MC Earthmoving was awarded a contract for a major bulk earthworks program at Holcim’s Pakenham Quarry. The program finished on time and on budget without incident. I was very impressed with the professionalism displayed by MC Earthmoving’s team and the quality of the work delivered.”
